red members have been providing strategic advice in Greater Manchester and the Midlands for 7 years. The work done with urbed for SHAP on standards still informs much of our work today, the research on delivery provided the model for the carbon coop. Most recently we provided technical support to last years’ DECC funded Green Deal Communities programme for Greater Manchester carrying out Whole House Assessments on candidate homes and advising on the best suites of retrofit measures to cost effectively approach the 80% emissions reduction target set out in the 2008 Climate Change Act. We also set up the Retrofit Pattern Book website to enable contractors to see good practice details.

Our strategy work also extends to those buildings that are beyond our contracting capacity to do ourselves. We have been advising Argyle Street Housing Co-op  on where their heat is going and how best to use the possibility of stopping that to also upgrade the indoor air quality
